Penticton Foundry Milestones 2023 - 2025
on April 28, 2026
Every year, we take a close look at our progress—what we’ve achieved and where we can improve—to ensure that we surpass our customers’ expectations, meet sustainability objectives and continue to increase casting performance. This mindset has helped generate strong results across multiple industries including mining, the Oil Sands, hydraulic fracturing and the oil and gas industry.
Much of our momentum over the past three years can be traced back to reaching several important milestones—achievements that we’re proud to highlight and share.

2024/2025
Goal: Create a new process to solve wear challenges
- Developed a new process to insert titanium carbides into the wear-face of a mining customer’s casting
- Exceeded customer expectations for wear life, saving expensive shutdowns
- Future iterations will involve the use of different materials (as inserts), as well as improved casting design
Goal: Create increased reliability by ensuring that the melt deck furnaces continue to function properly for the foreseeable future
- Installed brand new coils into 2 of 3 furnaces. The third furnace was completed in the prior period
- All furnaces now have brand new coils
- Ensure a spare coil is available to reduce downtime
Goal: Reduce electricity demand by making operators aware of usage
- Power-monitoring equipment installed. Operators can make better decisions while melting. This reduces costs, without jeopardizing lead times
- Cost savings passed to customers
- Helps us meet sustainability objectives

Goal: Contribute to the community in a meaningful way
- Presenting sponsor for the South Okanagan Women in Need Society’s (SOWINS) Inspiring Hope Gala in both 2024 and 2025. They raised over $225,000 in 2025 (and over $150,000 in 2024) to fund the life-changing programs and services that SOWINS provides in the South Okanagan, British Columbia
- Sponsor of Tee It Up for OSNS Charity Golf Tournament. Helping OSNS Child and Youth Development Centre provide programs focused on children and families
- Sponsor of the Penticton Robotics Team. Fosters STEM education by providing students with experience in robotics, coding and engineering
Goal: Ensure employees, customer tooling and neighbours are safe in the event of a fire.
- Upgraded the fire alarm system in Plant III
Goal: Increase employee safety around breaking pit
- Created maximum safe zone
- Re-built the breaking pit to ensure that any stray pieces of scrap are fully contained, and cannot be propelled beyond the pit toward nearby workers
2023/2024
Goal: Meet sustainability goals, and increase casting quality, by improving the operation of a heat treat oven to reduce energy consumption
- Relined heat treat oven #1 with new insulation
- Operation of the oven requires less energy - now more sustainable
- Increases employee safety
- Improves casting quality as the oven runs at more consistent temperatures

Goal: Improve working conditions and product quality by building new core room
- Relocated core room to a new space with better lighting, better workflow, and more ergonomics
- Result: We did not sacrifice lead times, or increase expenses, while improving working conditions
Goal: Strive to maintain perfect environmental compliance
- Installed digital pressure gauges on our baghouses. In addition to the testing done on our baghouses, and the preventative maintenance, these gauges allow real-time monitoring of the pressure in our baghouses
- Helps keep us in compliance with the Ministry of Environment
- Ensures that the air from our plant is properly filtered, keeping our community safe
Goal: Decrease lead times for prototype or low-run castings
- Purchased a high-quality 3D printer that can make coreboxes when necessary
- Decreases the time it takes to build a functional pattern, improving customer lead times
